Baby Ethan is still happily enjoying his stay in my womb... I am now approaching 41 weeks, and there are still no signs of contraction... Guess Ethan still wanna let me enjoy all the good food and privilege of being a preggie..
But since I am already in my 41th week, my Gyane has scheduled for me to be admitted at 12 midnight tonight so that I can induced. I will be given prostaglandin pessary in the vagina to soften the cervix. The prostaglandin takes around 6 hour to work so I was told that I should be able to zzz tonight. I really hope so... My MIL told me to take a bottle of chicken of essence (COE) before I admit into the hospital so I really hope I can still sleep. Maybe, the COE is to give me energy since I can't eat anything after that. Got to endure till I deliver.
After that, I will be monitored to see if there are any contractions and if I am dilating.... If I am not dilating well, then I might need to do a C section.... Well Well.... it's never easy being a mother...

Should I still reply to work related emails & sms?
Though I am theoretically on leave, I am still checking my office emails occasionally since I am still very free... Well, waiting at home everyday for Ethan's arrival can be quite boring at times... Apart from the occasional naps in the afternoon and performing some daily household chores, I have pretty much nothing to do to kill time.....
Sine my leave on 19th June, I have limited the checking of my mails once in a week or on a need to basis.... I checked my mails last night and realised that there was only 2 mails that needed my response. Though they are not of high priority, I felt bad not responding to those mails.... The question would be if I have seen the email, should I just ignore them? Well.... being someone who does not like to leave things unattended, I replied to them and also copied my coverage on those matters.... In this way, I can sleep in peace without worrying if there are still many mails which are left unattended.
This afternoon, I received an sms from my coverage as she got some questions on one of the quarterly reports which needs to be submitted when I am away... Well, sms... this is more complex... I can choose to ignore emails since I can cook up the excuse that I did not switch on my laptop to check my office emails.... But what about SMS? Am I allowed to ignore them since they are work related? This is like a grey area right? Handphone is something which is like part of us that even if we are on leave, in the delivery suite, or anywhere, we will still keep them with us. There will be no excuse that we will miss a sms... Sigh... So the bottomline is, I replied to the work related sms... and also switch on my laptop to work for a few hours because I need to forward some related information as supporting information for my coverage... I am not complaining! Just want to voice my thoughts.... Come to think of it, it's not anyone fault, just my own personality, I do not wish to leave things unattended...
I just checked my office mail again, not sure if everything was ok... Tsk tsk, I am simply paranoid... My coverage responded, thanking me for sending the information. She also informed me that I do not need to attend to any emails addressed to me and they should be automatically forward when the sender receives my out-of-office notification.... Well, good to hear that, so I can take a break..... But I still can't help pondering, if I am already on leave, why is she still sms'g me to ask about office work? Maybe it's the problem of differences in personality again. I am more nonchalant while she is more meticulous & careful....So she must ask questions whenever there is anything unclear...Well, I just hope that I wouldn't receive more sms about work....
When Ethan arrives, I don't think I will have anytime to reply to sms or email anymore since I will be dead tired juggling with a little one.... Btw, I can't help thinking if Ethan is going to come tonight.... :)

My Draft Plans for Baby Shower
Venue: Dad's place at AMK (Function Room)
Time: Tentative lunch (not sure if I should split into 2 sessions, one for Eugene's relatives & another for my own relatives)
Guest list: Tentative to be just relatives, close friends and some close colleagues.
It will be buffet, most likely to be catered from Changi Prison... Yes its Changi Prison, not a typo... It's recommended by my FIL. He has some business dealings with Changi Prison so he said that the buffet prepared by them are good and affordable.
I might be ordering cupcakes from cupcake divinity. Their cakes looks very nice & pretty. Spotted their 3 tier mini cupcakes. Looked really cute!

Not sure why, but I just feel that we should serve cakes during baby shower... Maybe it's just due to my own own greediness...

Oh ya, not forgetting those colleagues which I will not be inviting, I am considering either purchasing the pre-paid cakes from Bengawan Solo (BS) or ordering the very pretty box cakes from Sweetest moments (SM). I have ordered the cakes from Sweetest Moments during my Guo Da Li last year. The presentation was good.
The plus point of ordering from BS is we do not have to deliver the cakes / cards personally. We can sms the code to the recipient and they can collect the cake from any BS outlet using the code. Isn't that wonderful? The only disadvantage of ordering from SM is that we have to personally deliver the boxes of cakes... Come to think of it, there will only be 2 places to run... one will be my workplace and the other will be Eugene's workplace... Actually, it isn't too troublesome. Just have to weigh the pros and cons...
Well, I still have time to consider... Anyway, Ethan has not arrived yet!
:)

Week 39: Waiting for the arrival of my Ethan
This is the first entry to my blog where I am going to capture my thoughts before Ethan arrives and also as a diary which I will use to capture the growing up of Ethan...
I am now feeling anxious! I should say that it is a mixture of anticipation and also anxiety... On one hand I would like to see my Ethan, on the other hand I am feeling scared! I am not sure how I am going to go through the ordeal of labour and also the contractions.... Though I am going to opt for Epidural, I am still worrying about the pain from the first injection which is the anaesthetic shot... Oh my god, I am just a scady cat... worried about everything...
I just hope that the entire process will be smooth and easy & Ethan will be healthy :)
